It’s been a long five days! Yesterday was my first real venture out of the house to see the surgeon and go to the grocery store. Mima (aka my Mom) came over with Waylon to serve as my chauffeur for the afternoon. Good news from the orthopedic surgeon as my typed break doesn’t normally need surgery! This week though, I have to work on regaining movement in my hand so I can return to work on Monday and continue to progress. So today, that’s what I’m doing. My half cast, bandages and sling are off and my arm has been immersed in the pool, making small, wave like movements with my hand while keeping my elbow stable. The cold water feels soooo good and appears to be relieving the stiffness in my upper arm too. Hopefully sooner than later ill be able to use both hands to make a baby bottle or put my hair in a ponytail. Until then, using the one finger method to tap out emails.. With my good hand!
With this experience, while small in the big picture of life, i’m reminded of what amazing friends and family I have. Thank you to all for being part of my life!
Third day at home and near immobile with my broken elbow. Cabin fever is setting in!
